Wayne Martinsen, MD, MSW
Dr. Wayne Martinsen, Medical Director and Psychiatrist at Dakota Family Services, diagnoses psychiatric and behavioral health conditions, makes treatment recommendations and provides medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Martinsen’s practice is largely focused on complex patients with multiple health challenges. He works with his patients to maximize health, treat illness, and promote healthy longevity through lifestyle medicine. In addition to his work at the Ranch, Dr. Martinsen teaches at the UND School of Medicine as clinical faculty for medical students, as well as family practice and psychiatric residents.
Education and Training
Dr. Martinsen received his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND. He also has a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE. More recently, Dr. Martinsen became board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine to focus on a broader, more holistic approach to behavioral health.
